Payan Construction

UCAN is working with Payan Construction to install High Efficiency Appliances in homes in the 80216 zip code to produce a carbonless environment for the residents and beyond. This will provide a better home with less contaminated air in the dwelling.

UCAN is currently exploring options to develop free WiFi for the residents as this is a must for students and families to be connected to our fast technology environment.

New Day Hydrogen, Via Mobility & Colorado CarShare

UCAN is working with these companies to establish a Transportation Innovation Center with a focus on alternative fuels and reducing the carbon footprint in 80216.

InfoCentral

There are currently 40% homeowners in 80216 and the other 60 % are non-owner occupants. UCAN’s goal is to change this around by providing a path to homeownership and financial literacy worksi.

Esther Castillo-Lerma, founder of InfoCentral, is UCAN’s Chair of the Homeownership Committee and Director of the RISE Program.

ANCA & JSI

UCAN has been working with non-profit groups, ANCA -Accelerate Climate Action and JSI, Jack Snow Research Institute, over the past several years in developing Environmental Actions Plans for residents of 80216.

National Western Center

The National Western Center is working on a sustainability effort that looks to involve the GES community. While still in the planning process, the plan is to be able to offer community the opportunity to participate in the campus composting and other recycling efforts, along with educational opportunities as well.

AMPERE LLC

UCAN has installed an off-grid solar system that is direct current in one of the homes in 80216. This technology has been approved by the City and County of Denver’s Electrical Chief Inspector.

Disease Reduction and Clean Air

UCAN has done a deep cleaning at Swansea Elementary, Bruce Randolph Middle and High School and Garden Place Academy in the past by cleaning all touchable surfaces with Vital Oxide, a chemical agent that is used widely in hospitals. This effort is being led by Armando Payan in conjunction with Kirt Reinhold.

Upskilling U Consulting & Training

UCAN is working closely with Mirna Villa, Founder of Upskilling U Consulting & Training. She is currently leading the project - which is still in the planning phase - to launch job/career training in the green sector, particularly for youth.
